School chaplaincy is thriving in Queensland state schools, according to a recent survey of principals, teachers, parents and students.
Exactly one year after the Federal Government began funding school chaplaincy programs in state schools, findings from a Chaplaincy Evaluation Study reveal that Queensland school communities are very happy with the performance of their local chaplains.
“Despite a few early critics, this Study provides further evidence that school chaplains are a vital resource in our state schools,” said Tim Mander, CEO of SU Qld, the major employing authority of state school chaplains in Queensland.
The Study’s findings were released this week at SU Qld’s Frontline Appeal Dinner, Brisbane’s largest charity fundraising dinner in which SU Qld anticipates 1600 people will raise $700,000 to help support school chaplaincy programs across the state. (more…)
