Qld school chaplains receive early christmas present from pm
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has just delivered a very special Christmas present to the 340,000 students and their parents who school chaplains connect with across 640 schools in Queensland.
As the major employing authority for school chaplains in Queensland, SU Qld welcomes the weekend announcement by the Prime Minister that federal funding for the National School Chaplaincy Program will continue through to the end of 2011.
SU Qld CEO Tim Mander says: “We welcome the Prime Minister’s announcement as it provides a degree of certainty that funding will continue for those school chaplains who faced the prospect of no funding beyond next year.”
